Joel Stutheit is the Assistant Transportation Director for the Bethel School District in Washington state, where he has worked for the past 20 years. During his career with Bethel, Joel served as an assistant principal, dean, and teacher before taking his talents to the Transportation Department. There he has helped foster a positive climate and has grown the fleet from 160 buses (14 years ago) to the 226 buses they have today. This fleet now includes 42 propane-powered buses, some of which are the first ultra-low NOx school buses in the country. He was collaboratively involved in the building a new transportation center 5 years ago for the Bethel School District.
Joel holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Washington University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Heritage University.
