Andrew Grasty, Director of Transportation for Metro Nashville Public Schools, Nashville, TN. 2025 Past-President, Tennessee Association of Pupil Transportation.

Andrew Grasty, a Tennessee native and current Director of Transportation for Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, has served in Pupil Transportation for over a decade. Growing up in Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools, TN, he developed a passion for the yellow bus at an early age. After graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN, he and his wife relocated to Ohio where he began work in corporate management for a Fortune 25 company. While his wife was an elementary teacher in a local school district, Andrew’s passion to be a part of pupil transportation ignited. He was soon presented an opportunity to begin his career in school transportation leadership, leading in various school districts throughout the Dayton, Ohio, area. When offered the chance to relocate his family back home to middle Tennessee, he welcomed the opportunity and joined the Sumner County Schools team as Director of Transportation in 2021. Challenged with a shortage of 53 drivers (30%) in his first year at Sumner County, his team made headway and closed the gap on rebuilding and recruiting some of the area’s most talented school bus drivers. While growing as a leader, seeking to serve his team, and collaborating with stakeholders and peers in the Pupil Transportation industry, Andrew remains focused on the safe, efficient pupil transportation for each student. Joining Metro Nashville Public Schools in 2024 as Director of Transportation, he is working with his team in Nashville to make ‘Every Student Known’ by providing the best, safest, student focused school transportation in Music City. Andrew serves on the Tennessee Association of Pupil Transportation Board as Past-President for the 2025 school year.
