Miriam Manary MSE, Miriam works at the University of Michigan where she conducts biomechanics and human factors research for the automotive industry and federal government. Ms. Manary has led several studies focused on improving safety and independence of people who use wheelchairs as seats in motor vehicles and served as a principal investigator for the RERC on wheelchair transportation safety. She supervises sled impact evaluation of child restraints, transit wheelchairs, wheelchair securement systems and wheelchair-occupant restraint systems. She is the chair of the RESNA committee on Wheelchairs and Transportation. Ms. Manary is a NHTSA child passenger safety technician instructor and serves on several wheelchair and child restraint standards groups.
